Your adventure begins with a visit to the Muyil ruins, where a certified guide illuminates Maya history. A leisurely stroll through the mangroves leads to the lagoon, where you board a small, shared boat piloted by knowledgeable local guides, supporting the community.
Navigate across lagoons and through narrow canals to reach the starting point of the Muyil river float, passing by remnants of ancient Mayan culture along the way. Learn the unconventional yet effective method of wearing a life vest for optimal river floating comfort.
Relish in the tranquility of the river as you effortlessly drift along for approximately 40 minutes, guided by either the boat captain or your tour guide. Upon completion, reunite with your footwear at the dock, surrounded by the serene beauty of the savanna and its abundant birdlife.

8:00 AM: Pick-Up (time depends on pick up location)
– Your adventure begins with a prompt pick-up from your hotel, resort, or condo by our friendly Aloha Tours team.
9:30 AM: Arrival at Muyil Ruins
– Arrive at the Muyil archaeological site, where you’ll embark on a captivating journey through ancient Maya history with a guided tour of the ruins.
10:15 AM: Walk to Lagoon
– Take a leisurely stroll through the enchanting mangroves, immersing yourself in the lush natural surroundings as you make your way to the lagoon.
11:00 AM: Start Boat Tour
– Board a small boat (shared with others, max. 6 persons per boat) piloted by knowledgeable local guides, setting off on a scenic tour across the tranquil lagoons of Sian Ka’an Reserve.
11:30 AM: Begin River Float Tour
– Begin your leisurely river float, drifting along the crystal-clear waters as you soak in the serene ambiance of the Muyil River.
12:10 PM: End of River Float Tour
– Conclude your river float adventure and walk approximately 500 meters (1500 feet) back to the awaiting boat.

In case of COVID symptoms please stay home and contact us immediately. If you cancel last minute or are a no show and we can reschedule you, we will always try to do this!
FOR BOARD RENTALS, JET SKI & PARASAILING: You will get a full refund if you cancel at least 1 hour before your rental time.
FOR SUNRISE SESSION & SUP YOGA SUNRISE: You will get a full refund if you cancel at least 2 days before your activity or tour date. If you cancel 1 day before, there is a 50% refund. Last minute cancellations (after 6 pm the day before) or no shows unfortunately there will be no refund.
FOR MIXED GROUPS, PRIVATE CLASSES, CARIBBEAN EXPERIENCE AND REEF XPLORER: You will get a full refund if you cancel at least 1 day before your activity date. If you cancel after that, there is a 50% refund. Last minute cancellations (less than 6 hours before the activity time) or no shows unfortunately there will be no refund.
FOR PRIVATE EXPEDITIONS, SUP YOGA EXPERIENCES & BOARD DELIVERY: You will get a full refund if you cancel at least 7 days before your activity or tour date. In case of bad weather we can decide to either reschedule or cancel and refund you. Since most of our activities and tours are outside in the open air, the weather will always play an important part. Of course your safety and satisfaction are of our greatest concern. In general rain is not a valid reason for us to cancel. For sea activities we will cancel in case of heavy winds, lightning and big waves. For our tours the weather wil have less of an impact. However with heavy rain storms and any type of weather that might be a hazard to you,we will either cancel or refund. Normally we will contact you prior to your activity date to discuss the options.
Please contact us asap in case of cancellations and any other reasons by either phone, email or the contact form on our website.
Always let us know asap the minute you are running late. For the sea activities like our Sunrise Session we will always try to reschedule you if possible, or find an alternative the same day. Please note that many of these activities have limited spots and we won’t always be able to reschedule you for the same activity. If you are late for a tour we can wait for you, but this will go of the total time we have scheduled for your tour.
